The
first casting call for J.K. Rowling's upcoming first film installment of Fantastic
Beasts and Where to Find Them has been announced, and shows that
casting and the producers are looking for people of all ages in the U.K. to
take part in lead and supporting roles.
The
casting announcement states that filming will begin this August, which lines up
to what producer David Heyman said earlier this year about it starting in late
summer, and will be shot in New York City and London. The announcement also
notes that Newt Scamander, the protagonist of the series, is 23 years old. No
word yet on who will be cast in that lead role.
A
particular note, and something similar Heyman said earlier: Fantastic
Beasts and Where to Find Them will be shot as a single film project
for now, with the possibilities of future movies (including the two sequels
announced). The chance of sequels will undoubtedly be based on box office
results of the first movie.

those in the London area who want casting and crew roles, head here for more details.
Fiona
Weir, who was the casting director for the Harry Potter series, will be heading
the Fantastic Beasts production as well. Those crew members interested in
participating can email directing to Heyman's company, Heyday Films.
David
Yates will direct the first Fantastic Beasts movie. Heyman, Steven Kloves, J.K.
Rowling and her literary agent Neil Blair will be producing the Fantastic
Beasts and Where to Find Them series. Warner Bros.' Lionel Wigram will
be executive producer. The first movie will hit theaters November 18, 2016.
