Fan Created Script for Percy Jackson 3 Sparks Interest

Percy Jackson fans are still holding out for any update on the third film in the series. Percy Jackson: The Titan’s Curse, the third novel in the series, has yet to get an on-screen treatment. That hasn’t stopped avid fans from developing their own scripts for the sequel.

The Percy Jackson fan site, PercyJacksonMovies, is a site where fans come together to share their love for the franchise. A super fan by the online name of “Patrick”, has been working on a script for the third film with hopes of increasing awareness in the film. He has been working on a number of scripts and has finally released his rough draft. Under the working title “Percy Jackson & The Titan’s Curse Treatment“, Patrick’s script has made a huge impact on the Percy Jackson fan scene. Multiple fan sites have since picked up the script, and it has become quite popular. It’s stated that Patrick has a huge interest in writing fiction, and is a massive fan of Percy Jackson author, Rick Jordan.

In a detailed email exchange with another fan on the site, Patrick explained the plot points of his script. According to Patrick, the film is meant to serve as a finale to the franchise, and wrap up story lines from the first two films.
“I should also say that the main reason WHY I so desperately want another movie is to tie up the cliffhanger and other loose ends of SoM and have a (at least mostly) complete story line in the films. So therefore, we do not need another cliffhanger, especially if this movie does bomb.”
The script involves Percy Jackson recruiting students from a boarding school to assist him in battle. These students are meant to be the key in stopping a battle between the Gods and Titans. It’s been reported multiple times that this film may never come to fruition. During an interview with MTV, Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) said,

“It’s not happening. It’s been a great experience for me. It’s opened up a lot of doors for me, but I don’t think it’s happening.”
It’s probably safe to say that Fox has shelved the franchise for the time being. Given the current trend in Hollywood, it’s possible that the franchise might get a reboot rather than a sequel. Looking at the evidence, Percy Jackson fans will take just about anything at this point. The amount of effort put into Patrick’s script is quite impressive.
